The ODI World Cup is around the corner, and the fans and celebrities are waiting for the mega event to get going. Ahead of the major event, the Indian Cricket Board is presenting golden tickets to several eminent personalities and former cricketers of the country to make their World Cup-watching experience a memorable one.
In the first week of the ticket release, fans eagerly logged onto the official website BookMyShow, to secure their ODI World Cup 2023 Tickets. However, they did not get tickets for a series of glitches and setbacks that dampened the spirits of cricket fans worldwide.
The Indian Cricket Board secretary Jay Shah, has gifted the golden tickets to legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Rajnikanth. Apart from the dynamic duo from the movie industry, former India cricketer and World Cup 2011 winner, Sachin Tendulkar has been also given the golden ticket.

The golden ticket is a passport to a cricketing event, granting access to all 48 matches of the tournament from the heart of the action the cricket grounds themselves. Golden ticket holders are entitled to a VIP experience par excellence. The accreditation card mentions the holder as an Indian Cricket Board's VIP guest, ensuring a 5-star treatment at the stadium.
While cricket fans gear up for this grand event, the Indian Cricket Board has faced several criticism, primarily due to the delayed schedule announcements and technical issues with ticket bookings. However, for the World Cup's stature and spread of excitement, the cricket board is leaving no stone unturned.
The Indian Cricket Board has clearly awarded these tickets to eminent figures only, those who have raised India's popularity on the world stage through their achievements and skillsets. Therefore, it seems improbable that the general public will receive the Golden Ticket. The 'Golden Ticket for Golden Icons' initiative is for the country's renowned personalities for their World Cup experience to give them a new experience.
The Cricket Governing Body recently unveiled the official anthem of World Cup 2023 titled 'Dil Jashn Bole,' featuring Bollywood sensation Ranveer Singh and other popular figures encouraging fans to celebrate the festival of cricket.
