Just like last year, which gave us some of the most beloved gaming titles, gamers are now looking forward to the upcoming game releases for 2024. Many of them are sequels to their original games, while others are fresh titles.
Here are the upcoming games that have the gamers across the world excited -
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
First-person survival horror shooter game series S.T.A.L.K.E.R by GSC Game World has announced S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chornobyl sometime in Q1, 2024. The game is set in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone after the nuclear meltdown.
Since the game is single-player, it is expected to be highly story-driven. While the game is the fourth instalment in the series, it will follow up on the aftermath of previous S.T.A.L.K.E.R games released separately between 2007-2010.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
The game which swooped the 2022 Game of The Year (GOTY) award by a landslide has also planned a new expansion launch for 2024 named Shadow of the Erdtree. While not a full-fledged game, the expansion is reportedly much bigger in scope.
Gamers are expecting to have many secrets from the original game unveiled and explained, as it was quite clear that the developers planned to tell an even bigger story. With over 1 year in development, the game is expected to release this year.
Black Myth: Wukong
Featuring a 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West which has been adapted into movies, the game tells a story about Monkey King ‘Sun Wukong’ and tells his journey as an RPG game.
Many gamers were left wanting more after Elden Ring and Black Myth: Wukong gave them new hope after its initial announcement and reveal back in 2021. The game is set to release in August 2024.
Silent Hill 2
A remake of popular cult classic survival horror from 2001, Silent Hill 2 remake features updated graphics. The initial announcement back in 2022 had fans excited to see a beloved, forgotten game come back to life.
This tells the story of James Sunderland, who visits the small town of Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his deceased wife Mary. The game features all the old enemies and of course, fan favourite Pyramid Head.
