Former legendary India captain MS Dhoni turned 42 years old on Friday, July 7. The birthday of the legendary wicketkeeper-batter is being celebrated by many fans all around the world. Dhoni owns a massive fan base in the cricket universe, especially in India where people even treat him as a god.

Meanwhile, India’s young wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who is currently in his recovery process after a horrific car accident last year, celebrated Dhoni’s birthday and cut a cake in his absence. Many fans have appreciated the 25-year-old cricketer for his sweet gesture and also wished him a speedy recovery.

Pant took to Instagram where he shared a picture of cutting a cake for Dhoni, he also wrote a caption which says, "Happy birthday Mahi bhai. Aap toh ho nhi pass aapke liye cake cut leta hun mai. Happy birthday,(Happy Birthday Mahi bhai, you’re not here with me but still let's cut a cake for you. Happy birthday) Pant said in an Instagram post.

MS Dhoni's brilliant records as captain

Earlier, he also wished the legendary 2011 ODI World Cup winning captain on his Instagram story and penned a heartwarming wish for him, which reads, "An inspiration to so many people across the country. Thanks for everything you have done for Indian cricket. Happy birthday Mahi bhai," Pant said.

Dhoni is known for his calm and composed nature on the field. His chill nature even in the pressure situations helped him to gain a huge fan following. Dhoni is also the only captain in the world to win all three major world trophies. The right-hander batter announced his retirement on August 15, 2020, however, he continued to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

He recently won the 16th edition of the cash-rich league which was also his 5th IPL trophy for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He also became the joint most successful captain in the history of IPL with Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma who has also won 5 IPL trophies.
