In the midst of all the uncertainty regarding the location of the forthcoming Asia Cup in 2023, Pakistan Cricket Board chief Najam Sethi has offered an intriguing idea. He desires that the United Kingdom host the 2023 Asia Cup, according to Sethi. He added that since Pakistan is the host, it is up to them to decide where the competition will be held.

A frantic PCB has, in the meantime, made three bids to keep the ODI Asia Cup organising rights. However, Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary, is being aggressive. He has a lot of influence over the situation because he is the head of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), thus Pakistan is unlikely to benefit from the decision.

In a statement given to the Sports Hour, the Pakistan Cricket Board chief Najam Sethi claimed that the Asia Cup could potentially be moved outside of Pakistan but didn’t specify or give any reason as to why they would do that. The reason might just be the Indian Cricket Team’s and the India Cricket Board’s demand not to tour Pakistan and the security reason as well. He said, “England could be a possibility as a venue for the Asia Cup.”  The venues of the tournament have not been finalized but everything will take place in the coming weeks with an official confirmation from the Asian Cricket Council

The Pakistani team management has also introduced a game plan that will determine how it will approach the competition to be contested in October and November with an eye on the Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 trophy. The team is going to approach the One-Day Internationals during the lead-up and throughout the mega-event with upbeat and brave tactics and offensive methods according to the strategy dubbed The Pakistan Way.

Prior to the 50-over ACC Asia Cup, Pakistan is slated to play an ODI series of three matches against Afghanistan. The national team will take advantage of these chances to test their abilities, play with bench strength, and fine-tune the lineup.
