4. Ricky Ponting
The former Australian skipper is the only skipper to win two World Cups 2003 and 2007. He is the most successful captain of the Australian team. 3. Kumar Sangakkara
The former Sri Lankan skipper is one of the most elegant batters in the world. His cover drive is one of the treats to watch for every cricket fan and expert. He led Sri Lanka in the 2011 World Cup final where they lost against India. He is also one of the most successful wicket-keepers in the history of cricket.

2. Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Tendulkar is the greatest ever player to have ever played the game of cricket. He is the best batter of all time. The former India skipper has in total, 34,357 runs in 664 international cricket matches. He was the first man in cricket history to score a double hundred in ODI cricket.
Tendulkar is the highest run-scorer in the marquee event. He played 45 matches until his last World Cup appearance in 2011 and scored 2278 runs, including six centuries in the World Cup. He also holds the record for scoring the most fifties in World Cup history with 15 half-centuries to his name.
1. Rohit Sharma
The present India skipper has been one of the best openers in white-ball cricket. He has already registered six centuries and is the only batter to score five centuries in a single edition of the Cricket World Cup. His first century came against Bangladesh in the quarter-final of the 2015 World Cup.
Rohit had a dream run in the 2019 World Cup. He scored five centuries in the last edition of the mega event. He has scored 978 runs in the two World Cups he has been a part of and at an average of 65.20. The 36-year-old batter is just one World Cup ton away from breaking Sachin's record for most number of hundred in World Cups.
