Lionel Messi to win Best player award

Lionel Messi is the best footballer of all time. The Argentina captain has won every single trophy in his iconic footballing career. Messi's FIFA World Cup 2022 win fulfilled the one trophy that was missing from his cabinet. The Greatest Player of All Time is one of the most decorated footballer of all time, his skill and vision of viewing the game makes him different from others. At the age of 36, he still competes to compete with the best footballers of this generation.

LM10 won the 8th Ballon d'Or and continues to be recognised as the best player in the world. He now holds the FIFA Best award and has the opportunity to become the first guy to win it three times. He will have to beat out Manchester City's Erling Haaland and his former Paris Saint-Germain teammate Kylian Mbappe, the best two players of this generation who stood second and third in the Ballon d'Or poll, respectively.

Mbappe and Haaland compete in Europe's top league and have the potential to win the trophy this year. But Messi has left Europe and now plays in Major League Soccer (MLS) but he stays the same in terms of skill and goal-scoring ability.

Lionel Messi top of the world

FIFA has said of Messi, "What else is left to say about the player who has won every major domestic, international and individual honour in the game, and continues to mesmerise global audiences at the age of 36. Messi, who was named The Best Men's Player in 2022, returned from leading Argentina to glory in Qatar to help PSG lift their latest Ligue 1 crown, the second of his spell in France, while he was also named in the Ligue 1 team of the season and ended the campaign at the top of the division’s assists chart."

"A new challenge presented itself in July, with the diminutive genius, who now has over 100 goals for his country and is the all-time top scorer in the top five European leagues, moving across the Atlantic to join Inter Miami, a transfer greeted with the rapture and fanfare fully deserving of one of the game’s all-time greats."
