India and Pakistan will lock horns next in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. The match will take place on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Talking about their record, the Men In Blue have won seven out of as many games against their Asian rivals since 1992. Before this, both teams didn't play against each other in World Cups from 1975 to 1987.

In the Asia Cup 2023, one game between both teams was washed out in the Group stages. In the Super Four stage, the Green Brigade was thrashed by 228 runs. After this, they also lost to Sri Lanka in a last-ball thriller. This led to them crashing out before the final. On the other hand, India managed to win the final against the Lankan Lions by 10 wickets.

Pakistan needs to plan really well to put India under pressure: Kamran Akmal

Meanwhile, former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal has offered his two cents on the India-Pakistan game. He said that India is a complete team while Pakistan is still looking for answers.

“Mohammed Shami is on the bench, he doesn't play in this XI. That shows you it's a complete bowling unit. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma are in form, Shubman Gill scored a century recently, so it looks a solid batting unit. I'll just say that for the match we have on October 14, the Pakistan team needs to plan really well to put them under pressure,” said Kamran on his official YouTube channel.

“If they play with the same mentality as the Asia Cup, and the way we played for the past three years, they're going to get thrashed badly. They need to prepare really well.”

Naseem Shah, who got injured during the Asia Cup 2023, is reported to be ruled out of the World Cup. Not just this but he is also set to miss the Australia tour early next year.
