For the third time in the going Lanka Premier League 2023, a snake entered the ground during a live game. The incident happened during the B-Love Kandy vs Jaffna Kings game. During the Kings' innings, former Sri Lanka international and now Kandy player, Isuru Udana was moving back towards the third man/fine leg boundary. However, his eyes weren't on the ground as he went past a moving snake.

The left-arm medium pacer almost stepped up on the serpent. However, in the nick of time, the former Sri Lanka player look down and moved away from the reptilia. However, this is not the first incident during the tournament. During the Galle Titans vs Dambulla Aura game, a snake intrusion meant that the game was stopped for a while. former South African cricketer Shaun Pollock, who was commentating on the game, quipped, “Maybe he’s come to take over the job from the cameramen.”

Talking about the game, Kandy won the toss and elected to bat first. They had a great start as Pakistan internationals Fakhar Zaman (22) and Mohammad Haris out together 51 runs in 5.3 overs. However, the likes of Dinesh Chandimal (1) and Sahan Arachchige (2) reduced them to 63/3. At this stage, Haris and Angelo Mathews (22) put together 72 runs with the former doing the heavy lifting.

Haris (81) and skipper Wanindu Hasaranga (19*) helped the team reach 178/8 with other batters failing to do much. In reply, the defending champs, the Kings lost their openers, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Nishan Madhushanka inside the first three overs. Things got worse as they lost five wickets for 90 runs. Former Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik (55*) and former Sri Lanka all-rounder and Kings skipper Thisaara Perera tried their best.

Despite this, the team lost the game by eight runs.
