Former UFC light heavyweight and middleweight mixed martial artist Chael Sonnen publicly questioned and examined Belal Muhammad's choice to battle Gilbert Burns over five rounds. The American Gangster admired Muhammad's self-assurance in his conditioning by seeking two more rounds in a video on his YouTube channel. Furthermore, Sonnen praised Muhammad for overcoming many challenges and putting himself one win away from a welterweight title fight.

Chael Sonnen praised Belal Muhammad but doubted Muhammad's potential to defeat Burns. "But if you watch that fight, Gilbert hurt him. He had him stumble a little bit. Kamaru had to figure things out and get straightened out. When Kamaru had one chance to put him to sleep, he had to finish him. If you don't shut that man off, he's not going away; he's not going anywhere," he said.

The 34-year-old Muhammad has kept a perfect record since his defeat to Geoff Neal in 2019, demonstrating his commitment to extending his victory streak. His determination is further fueled by his desire to defeat Gilbert Burns and get a shot at the welterweight championship.

Chael Sonnen also predicted the winner of Henry Cejudo vs Aljamain Sterling

In a recent video, Chael Sonnen voiced his confidence that Henry Cejudo will prevail over Aljamain Sterling in their upcoming UFC 288 match. Sonnen predicted that Sterling's nerves and anxiety would overcome him because this would be his first time serving as the main event of a UFC pay-per-view event.

"John Anik broke this today; I didn't know it until John said it. John said that this is Sterling's first time in a main event. All these times that he's been featured in other title fights, those headlined by the other fighters. This time he will be the absolute last athlete to leave the bath and walk to the Octagon. Does that matter? It does on many levels when you're the champion of the world. Some of those nerves and anxieties might be getting to you," he said.
