After their first home game against Delhi, the Lucknow-based franchise has decided to lower the ticket prices to attract more spectators to the ground. In the first match of the tournament, KL Rahul-led Lucknow faced David Warner’s Delhi at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. The stands were hardly filled with spectators as people didn’t come to watch the game.
Now, to attract more fans to the ground, Lucknow has decided to lower the ticket prices from INR 499 to INR 349. With this significant price decrease, the team hope for more fans on the ground for their next match. Now, it will be interesting to see if people turn to the stadium with this significant decrease in the price of tickets or if the situation will remain the same.
Notably, the stadium in Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Gujarat was fully packed despite high prices. Lucknow has also launched a campaign called, “Aapki apni team hai” to attract an audience in the upcoming matches. Lucknow is set to face Hyderabad in the second home game on April 7. KL Rahul and Co. will look to make a comeback after being thrashed by Chennai in the last game.
Lucknow thrashed Delhi in the first home game
In their first home game on April 1, Lucknow faced David Warner’s Delhi. Lucknow, with an amazing performance from Kyle Mayers and Mark Wood, thrashed Delhi by 50 runs. Although, in the next game, they failed to register a win in Chennai while chasing 217. KL Rahul and Co. will look to get back on the winning track as they will be looking to repeat their previous year's performance.
Meanwhile, Lucknow got good news as South Africa superstar Quinton De Kock will be available for selection from the next match. He missed the first two games due to national duties as he was playing ODIs against the Netherlands. Notably, he hammered a magnificent century against West Indies in the recently concluded T20I series.
Meanwhile, here's how fans reacted to the news of Lucknow deciding to lower the tickets prices:
As it should be everywhere. Cricket for all. 🫂

Actually they got one of the most beautiful stadiums in India. Just some ground work is required and pitch need to be made little friendly for batting.. than you can see some interesting matches on that ground

Guwahati of Assam contains more fan base than Lucknow. They should have been given an IPL team. I think in next 3/4 years they will be provided a team. IPL should be expanded.
