Teams have already reached India for the 2023 World Cup. They will play some warm-up matches ahead of the marquee event. On Thursday, the England Cricket team reached Guwahati for their opening warm-up match against the host India. England will start this edition tournament with the opener against New Zealand in a rematch of the 2019 final at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

England's journey to Guwahati was not as planned as they wanted. They travelled in economy class flight as they travelled to India for the World Cup event. England opener Jonny Bairstow expressed his frustration as England's journey to India for the World Cup extended to more than 38 hours.

The opening batter shared his displeasure through an Instagram story mentioning the team was still on the plane after more than 38 hours since takeoff. He shared a photo of England's squad along with the other people travelling on that same flight.

And we don't know how guys will pull up: Matthew Mott

The English batter called the trip "utter chaos." After their warm-up match against India, England will face Bangladesh in their second warm-up match as part of their preparations. They will then travel to Ahmedabad for their World Cup opener against the Kiwis. Ben Stokes has come back from retirement for the ODI World Cup. He might be a player to watch out for in the mega-event.

England coach Mathew Mott said: "We're close but it's still a while away. And we don't know how guys will pull up, a quick turnaround when we land in India. We've got a rough idea, then it's about opposition, whether we go batter-heavy, bowler-heavy. The squad we have picked gives us great flexibility."

"I do , because of the venues, the travel, certain players thrive, others don't go so well. That's why when you pick the squad, you do a lot of 'what if?' scenarios." Eight of England's games will be held at different locations. The English will look to defend their trophy.
