LEC Winter Split

The opening day for LEC Winter Split 2024 has broken the viewership record for the previous year. Last year’s LEC Winter Split boasted over 555k peak viewers, however, this year, the number crossed over 600k.

It is clear that fans are even more excited for this year’s championship, and the year has only begun. The new viewership numbers were recorded during the match between Fnatic and Karmine Corp.

Director of LoL Esports EMEA thanks everyone

Celebrating the achievement, the director of LoL Esports EMEA, Maximilian Peter Schmidt, thanked the official co-streamers. One of the co-streamers, Kamel “Kameto” Kebir who is also the owner of Karmine Corp, alone reportedly saw over 140k viewers.

“We just hit the milestone of 600k viewers before the third game of the day even started. As a point of reference, our Week 1 last year peaked at 461k. Thank you to all of you for tuning in every year and making the LEC so special,” Schmidt said.

“Of course also a big thank you to Caedrel, IbaiLlanos, Kammeto & TolkinLoL for all the work and effort over the last weeks and months to make our co-streaming trial on-site so successful - although there is still a lot to be improved like actually getting the rat king on-site,” he further added.

Karmine Corp is also one of the most beloved esports organizations, which is said to have a huge fan base in the League of Legends community. With a new record-breaking viewership, it is clear that the team indeed have a lot of fans.

Fnatic on the other hand is also not something to be taken lightly. It also boasts a huge fan base and the match-up between both teams made the event even more successful. Although, the other four matches also boasted over 400k viewers.
