Three teams off to VCT Americas Playoffs

Group stage matches for the VCT Americas are almost of over. The three teams moving to the Playoff from each group has already been decided. However, the ones moving to the Play-in are still unknown.

Here are the current rankings in each group -

NRG : 2-0

MIBR : 1-1

Cloud9 : 1-1

FURIA Esports : 0-2

• Group B

LOUD : 2-0

Sentinels : 1-1

Leviatán : 1-1

100 Thieves : 0-2

• Group C

Evil Geniuses : 1-0

G2 Esports : 1-1

KRÜ Esports : 0-1

NRG and LOUD have currently dominated both of their matches. Evil Geniuses on the other hand started with a ‘bye’ in the winners bracket and defeated G2 to secure their spot.

All three have currently secured a spot in the Playoffs while FURIA Esports and 100 Thieves has been eliminated. The teams in second and third spot will now face each other one last time in the decider matches

Play-in

Decider matches will take place on February 26 with three winners moving to play-in while the remaining will be eliminated. However, this does not mean everyone is safe. The play-in will feature a single spot for Playoff, meaning two of three teams will go home.

Play-in will feature a Single Round-Robin group in a best-of-three format, with each team facing the other once. The team with the best score at the end will join the group stage winners in the Playoffs.

The Playoffs will give us the next two teams going in the Masters Madrid during the Semifinals on March 2. Grand finals will be played on March 3 with the winner receiving Championship Points.
