Following the altercation between BJP MP and former India batsman Gautam Gambhir and RCB and India star Virat Kohli in the IPL 2023, renowned news anchor Rajat Sharma has attacked Gambhir.

After the RCB-KKR game in Lucknow, Kohli, still with RCB, and Gambhir, now a coach with LSG, engaged in a furious argument similar to the one they had during an RCB-KKR game in Bangalore ten years prior. Gambhir gave the crowd the shushing signal during their earlier encounter in Bangalore this season, which Virat repeated in Lucknow after making a few catches. The former RCB captain sparred with LSG's Naveen-ul-Haq as well.

Kyle Mayers and Kohli were conversing after the game, which RCB won by 18 runs when Gambhir yanked Mayers away. A few seconds later, they aggressively approached one another, exchanging rude comments that caused their tempers to boil up again. They were divided and taken apart by others, including Vijay Dahiya, Amit Mishra, Faf du Plessis, and KL Rahul.

This episode hasn't done the IPL, cricket, or the two highly regarded individuals, Kohli and Gambhir, any favours. Videos of these incidents were shown around the newsroom and have been a topic of conversation for the previous few days.

Gautam Gambhir retaliated to Rajat Sharma's comments

According to Rajat Sharma of INDIA TV, the former left-handed batsman is envious of Virat Kohli's popularity and success; he also accused Gautam Gambhir of being rude and impolite during his heated exchange with the RCB batter. In Rajat Sharma's opinion, Gambhir's actions were contrary to the spirit of cricket and sportsmanship.

Gautam Gambhir has now retaliated to the comments with a tweet taking an indirect dig at Rajat Sharma. He wrote, 'Man who ran away from Delhi Cricket citing "pressure" seems over-eager to sell paid PR as concern for cricket! यही कलयुग़ है जहां ‘भगोड़े’ अपनी ‘अदालत’ चलाते हैं। (This is Kalyug where 'fugitives' run their 'court').’

Virat Kohli said about the match, "It was a really important win for us. The fact that we got more support from the home crowd is an unbelievable feeling. It tells you all about how much we are liked as a team and how people come out and back us. It's a very sweet win. Feels very good for many reasons, but most importantly for the kind of character we showed defending that total <126>. I think everyone had the belief that we could do it, and we were on the winning side, which is great."
