The final of the ongoing IPL was all set to happen at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 28 May 2023. But, due to heavy rain, it got postponed and the match is now set to happen on the reserve day, 29 May. Many fans already reached the stadium to witness this grand clash. But, rain played a spoilsport.

So, after the match got postponed, many fans were seen returning home during heavy rain. But, an image has now gone viral where many fans were seen taking shelter under Virat Kohli’s banner. Seeing that fans went crazy and shared their views on social media. However, Virat Kohli had a great IPL 2023 with the bat for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) with 639 runs in 14 matches, including six fifties and two centuries.

However, Kohli is currently in England, getting prepared for the upcoming World Test Championship final between India and Australia at the Oval. Seeing his form in IPL, the former Team India batter, Sunil Gavaskar shared his verdict of picking him as an option for the upcoming 20-20 World Cup for Team India in 2024. While speaking to Sports Tak, he said: "The next T20 World Cup will be played in 2024. There will be another IPL before that in March-April.”

"Kohli's form should be observed at that point. There is no point talking about it now. If we are talking about an upcoming T20 international, say India are playing a match in June, then he definitely fits into the team, the kind of form that he has shown. But, speaking about the 2024 World Cup, which will be held in West Indies and America, the form of players needs to be observed in the IPL before that and then we can talk about selection for the World Cup squad," Gavaskar concluded.
