The former India skipper Virat Kohli is currently in Colombo, Sri Lanka for the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. He along with the Indian team is preparing for the high-voltage match between India and Pakistan scheduled on September 10. KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah have joined the team in Sri Lanka ahead of the marquee clash.

The players of the Indian team are practicing thoroughly in the nets. The 'Run machine' has also done batting practice in the nets. After the session, Kohli was seen giving cricket lessons to the young players of Sri Lanka, and the net bowlers as well and the video has gone viral on social media. One such fan gifted a silver bat to Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli an inspiration for youngsters

The Indian Cricket Board has posted the video of Kohli chatting with the youngsters on social media. In a video shared by the Indian Cricket Board, the 34-year-old batter is seen giving tips to Sri Lanka's young players. A Sri Lankan player is also seen praising the former skipper.

The Delhi-born batter has scored 613 runs in 10 innings at an average of 61.3 and has the highest score of 183. However, in Asia Cup 2022 which was a T20I format, he was the 2nd highest run scorer. He scored 272 runs in 5 matches. This year the former India captain has made 787 runs in 15 ODI matches in which he has made 3 centuries. However, he failed to have an impact in the first match of the Asia Cup as he was bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi for just 4 runs off just 7 balls.

He will surely want to get back in runs and perform the way he has against Pakistan in previous meetings. Kohli has faced Pakistan only 13 times in ODIs and scored 536 runs at an average of 48.72 with the help of two hundred and two fifties. His career's highest ODI score of 183 came against Pakistan in the 2012 Asia Cup in Mirpur, Bangladesh.

The key match is expected to be interrupted by rain and the ACC has kept a reserve day for only this match.
