Liverpool and Arsenal clashed against each other on Sunday in a Premier League match. Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus scored goals for Arsenal to give them a 2-0 lead in the first half of play. Before halftime, Salah restored parity with a goal, and in the second half, from the penalty spot, he had a great chance to make it 2-2.

However, an incident went viral on social media. After Mohamed Salah's 42nd-minute goal had cut the lead in half, he was given the ball and the task of attempting to tie the score from the penalty spot, but after a short while, he was holding his head in his hands. But their manager, Jurgen Klopp appeared to believe Salah had levelled the score until later realising he was mistaken.

Salah, who had previously missed a penalty against Bournemouth, put the ball down before smashing his shot wide. Klopp couldn't bear to watch. And German manager Klopp didn't seem to know, and camera footage reveals that he believed his team had scored as he faced the fans in nervous anticipation.

Instead, the German crossed his arms and raised his fist in joy as he heard the Anfield audience gasp in dismay because he believed Liverpool had held Arsenal back. But as the 55-year-old turned to look at the pitch, expecting to see his team jubilating in front of the Kop, he instantly realised his error. Instead, he noticed Salah trying to hide from the yelling mob with his shirt pulled over his head.

Afterwards, a frustrated Klopp held his palms out while asking himself what had gone wrong and searching for explanations as to why Salah hadn't scored. Instead of Arsenal fans praising the winger's miss, he mistakenly believed the ruckus to be confirmation that his team had scored.

Brilliant header by Roberto Firmino in the second half

Yet in a thrilling 2-2 draw, Liverpool eventually got on the board through Roberto Firmino. In the tense Premier League match, Firmino's close-range header beat Ramsdale to give Liverpool an equaliser late on. Officials from the game had to speak with Klopp and Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, several times because of their intense exchanges in the dugout. Both teams' players occasionally lost control of their composure.
