The legendary Bangalore trio of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle used to be a nightmare for the opponents in the Indian T20 League. Their partnership used to last long on the field but their bonds off the field were also great as they shared a great time together while playing for the Bangalore-based franchise.

Meanwhile, De Villiers recently made a shocking revelation about the former Indian captain. It is known that Kohli used to be arrogant in his initial days and de Villiers also faced this side of him as he said that when he met him for the first time in 2011, he found the star right-hander 'cocky and arrogant' and felt 'he's got to come down to earth a bit'.

“Oh my goodness...I have had this question before and I had given this answer before as well. I think he was quite cocky and arrogant when I met him the first time. With that hairstyle and he had a bit of a strut going...," De Villiers said in an episode of Bold Diaries.

Gayle, who couldn't stop laughing, added, “Flamboyant, was he?”

However, De Villiers also mentioned that his view changed as soon as he got to know more about Kohli once the barrier was opened between them. Kohli will be seen in action in the upcoming 16th edition of the Indian T20 League starting on March 31.

“Yes absolutely,” replied De Villiers. ”But the minute I got to know him a bit better and watched him play I mean I've got as much respect for him but I got to know him better as a human being. I think he had a barrier around him when I met him the first time and that barrier opened up and I got to know the person. I didn't like him but you know what I'm saying. He's a top person now but the first impression was ufff...he's got to come down to earth a bit.”
