The dashing middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav has lit up the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022. Batting at a stunning strike rate of 193.96, the 32-year-old smashed 225 runs from five matches and with that, is the third-leading run-scorer of the marquee tournament. He has hit bowlers all across the park and just when India’s top order was struggling, his flamboyance gave them much assurance in the middle.
Courtesy of a few of his audacious shots, comparisons were drawn between Suryakumar Yadav and AB de Villiers after his top-notch performance against Zimbabwe. The 32-year-old smacked 61 off 25 deliveries and following which, he earned the title of new Mr. 360 from the legend AB de Villiers himself. However, the former Proteas captain cheekily reminded everyone that he still is the original Mr. 36-degree.
“He is the new 360 but I am still the original. Don't take that nickname away from me. I am very happy for the guy. he has got lot of potential,” the legendary cricketer said in a video that went viral on social media.

He will have to concentrate on his consistency: De Villiers
Even though Suryakumar Yadav has proven himself in international cricket, he is yet to perform in crunch situations in any major tournament. Sharing a piece of advice for the new T20 sensation, De Villiers asked Suryakumar to be more consistent with the bat and shares the recipe for being one of the greats in world cricket.
“Yes, they are. The only thing he will have to concentrate on is his consistency. He will have to do this for 5 to 10 years and then he will find himself in the golden books of cricket players,” the cricketer was quoted as saying.
He will once again be in action when the Men in Blue takes on England on Thursday, November 10 at Adelaide Oval. The winner of the match will qualify for the finals of the 20-20 World Cup which is scheduled to happen on November 13 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.
