India suffered a humiliating loss against England in the 20-20 World Cup semi-final following which questions have started to be asked of the team and management. India didn’t look like a very strong team throughout the campaign but reached the semi-final on the back of a resurgent Virat Kohli.

Comparing Rohit Sharma to MS Dhoni, the former World Cup winner has said that no other captain will be able to win three major trophies as Dhoni did.
"Someone will come and probably score more double 100s than Rohit Sharma and more 100s than Virat Kohli, but I don't think so any Indian captain would be able to achieve three major trophies,” said Gambhir.
Notably, Dhoni led the India side to three major trophies namely the 20-20 World Cup in 2007, ODI World Cup in 2011 and the Champions Trophy in 2013.
Meanwhile, following captains Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have failed to win even one. While India continues to do well in bilateral series, it is the World Cups that pose an unsurmountable challenge to the team.
In the ongoing World Cup, India faced a setback with Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah being ruled out of the tournament. India started off well by defeating Pakistan on the back of Virat Kohli’s masterclass but never looked like the team to beat even then on.
