India suffered a humiliating loss against England in the 20-20 World Cup semi-final following which questions have started to be asked of the team and management. India didn’t look like a very strong team throughout the campaign but reached the semi-final on the back of a resurgent Virat Kohli.

Then after however, the Men in Blue failed to get past a proper challenge in terms of England and faltered at the first sight of quality. Former cricketers and fans alike have already come up with difficult questions for Rohit Sharma's led side. Ex-cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has suggested a ‘few shocking retirements are on the cards’, while Gautam Gambhir has also something that no other captain will be able to emulate.

Comparing Rohit Sharma to MS Dhoni, the former World Cup winner has said that no other captain will be able to win three major trophies as Dhoni did.

"Someone will come and probably score more double 100s than Rohit Sharma and more 100s than Virat Kohli, but I don't think so any Indian captain would be able to achieve three major trophies,” said Gambhir.

Notably, Dhoni led the India side to three major trophies namely the 20-20 World Cup in 2007, ODI World Cup in 2011 and the Champions Trophy in 2013.

Meanwhile, following captains Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have failed to win even one. While India continues to do well in bilateral series, it is the World Cups that pose an unsurmountable challenge to the team.

In the ongoing World Cup, India faced a setback with Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah being ruled out of the tournament. India started off well by defeating Pakistan on the back of Virat Kohli’s masterclass but never looked like the team to beat even then on.

Against South Africa the team lost quite easily and would have also lost against Bangladesh had the rain hadn’t interrupted. This World Cup ouster now points to a change in things going forward and many are expecting a major reshuffle of the
