UFC Welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal is all set to face Gilbert Burns on Sunday, April 9 in the co-main event Of UFC 287 at the Miami-Dade arena. Both Burns and Masvidal had an intense face-off on Saturday and the crowd also went berserk.

Meanwhile, Masvidal, who has lost three consecutive fights inside the UFC octagon since 2019 has recently said that he will brutally defeat Burns as he wants to get a Welterweight title shot against the champion Leon Edwards. He spoke some harsh words about Burns and looked very desperate to get a victory.

"I gotta m*rder him. I gotta dump the whole clip in his chest. I gotta leave him without life for like five minutes in the stretcher, the crowds going crazy. That's it. The deeper I bury him in the ground, the more likely I'm gonna get that title shot. A bullsh*t decision or squeezing somebody until the referee breaks us up and then squeezing him again as hard as I can until the referee breaks it up , those victories never get you sh*t. But when you take somebody's soul in there, that gets the crowd going, that gets the promoters going, that gets the matchmakers going."

That guy is coming in hungry. I’m expecting that: Gilbert Burns

Meanwhile, Burns has heaped praise on the 'Gamebred' and said that he has trained with top-level fights from America and will definitely show up in the fight. He also reminded the fans that he will be hungry after losing three consecutive fights in UFC.

“That guy is game," Burns said this week after insisting that Masvidal was being '100 percent' underestimated. "Like I said, 51 fights, plus maybe 20 more on the street? That’s 71 fights, that’s a lot. He’s also training with high-level guys in American Top Team. I know his teammates.

“This guy is very tough, very durable. He’s a dog. … That guy is going to show up. I know people say, ‘Oh, that guy is older. He’s coming off three losses.’ I see the complete opposite. I see his back against the wall, he’s fighting at home, if he wins there’s a title shot, maybe. That guy is coming in hungry. I’m expecting that.”
