Former Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar is currently playing in the Legends League Cricket. Akhtar is a member of the Asia Lions, whose captain is the former Pakistan allrounder Shahid Afridi. Three teams—Indian Maharajas, Asia Lions, and World Giants—are competing in Qatar in the LLC’s current season. Akhtar and former India spinner Harbhajan Singh were seen joking around in a video posted on Akhtar’s YouTube channel. Akhtar narrated a story from the Faislabad Test during India’s 2005–2006 tour of Pakistan in the video.
After hitting Harbhajan for two enormous sixes in the first inning, Akhtar remembered Harbhajan’s response. “Should I tell what happened in Faislabad?” Akhtar said in a video uploaded on his official YouTube channel. Harbhajan Singh, who also hit Akhtar for a maximum during the same game, replied: “No, I did not misbehave. I hit you for a six, and you got angry. ‘How can he hit me like that?’.” However, Akhtar replied by saying: “No. You misbehaved after I hit two sixes off your bowling.” “When he’s losing the war of words, he starts using force,” Harbhajan said as Akhtar jokingly hit him on his tummy.
‘LLC is a tournament larger than life’ – Shoaib Akhtar
Shoaib Akhtar has recently opened up on the LLC being a good tournament. “The LLC is a wonderful tournament. The tournament has become larger than life. The league will start to get more competitive now going forward with the recently-retired players who might join the league in coming seasons; the league will only grow.”
“I would like to thank Vivek and Raman Raheja for a fantastic job in putting this mega tournament together. It’s great fun to play against these guys. The platform is providing me an opportunity to meet my old friends. It’s a burst of memories when we all are playing together. We share old anecdotes from our playing time. We share a good bond and give our best so that the fans can enjoy,” he opined.
