Early this year, the Women's Premier League was launched and was an instant success. Going by this, there might be a possibility of a Women's Champions League combining the premier T20 team from India, England, and Australia. The fans might remember the same kind of tournament from 2009 to 2014 in which premier T20 teams from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, etc played against each other.
The tournament was initially set to start in 2008 if not for the Mumbai attack on 26/11/2008. Meanwhile, during these years, the tournament featured the best T20 teams of every year from these nations. However, the tournament wasn't worth the hype as it didn't attract enough crowd. After the 2014 Champions League, won by Chennai Super Kings, the tournament was scrapped. Meanwhile, as reported by The Age, a CA spokeswoman acknowledged that talks were ongoing but would not provide any additional information.
The conversation took place as the three boards discussed about the 'Big Three'.
More discussions centered on the Apex Council's annual summit in South Africa last week, where member countries approved a proposal to give the BCCI up to 38% of proceeds from the just-completed $US3 billion ($4.35 billion) sale of the rights to international events.
