India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been rested for the T20I series against Ireland next month. The series will start after the five-match T20I series against the West Indies early next month. Pandya will lead the team in the series in the Caribbean. Talking about the captain, Jasprit Bumrah, who is making his comeback, will lead the side.

He led the team in one Test against England last year. The team lost the game and had to settle with a series leveling score of 2-2. Meanwhile, after the same tour, Bumrah was troubled by back pain and played only one game. This led to him missing the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup and the Men In Blue lost both tournaments.

Meanwhile, after a gap of almost one year, the right-arm pacer is making his comeback. He recently started to bowl full throttle and played a friendly game or two leading up to this selection. Apart from him, Rinku Singh, who got his maiden call-up for the Asian Games 2023, has been selected for the preceding series. Tilak Varma has already gotten the maiden call-up for the West Indies series.

Apart from Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna is also making his comeback after a back injury. Also, Ravi Bishnoi is making a comeback after last year's Asia Cup. Washington Sundar, who got injured during the IPL 2023, is also making his comeback.

Squad: - Jasprit Bumrah (C), Ruturaj Gaikwad (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson (wk), Jitesh Sharma (wk), Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Ravi Bishnoi, Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Avesh Khan.
