India beat Afghanistan by 6 wickets to seal the 3-match T20I series on Sunday. Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field first. The Men in Blue made two obvious changes Shubman Gill and Tilak Verma made way for Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal. The former India captain missed out on the first game due to a family emergency and has been back with the side after 14 months of absence from the shortest format of the game. The Afghan openers gave them a fiery start scoring 50 in the first five overs. They lost wickets in the crucial moments.

Skipper Ibrahim Zadran could not have an impact, with Gulbadin Naib scoring an aggressive half-century. The visitors kept on losing wickets and their momentum of scoring runs quickly was also shut down by the bowling attack of the side. Axar Patel bowled brilliantly leaking just 17 runs and picking up two wickets. Ravi Bishnoi picked two wickets as well but he leaked out runs at over 9 per over.

In the end, some firepower from Karim Janat and Mujeeb ur Rahman gave the visitors to defend at least a decent total. Shivam Dube who was the star of the first match did not have a great outing with the ball as he gave 36 runs in his three-over spells. Janat's small cameo was over by Arshdeep Singh who picked up three wickets with two of them coming in the final over. They set a good total of 172 runs.

Dube and Jaiswal fires

In reply, the Men in Blue openers Rohit and Jaiswal did not get the start they wanted as the skipper's poor form continued as he was dismissed for a first-ball duck. Kohli and the latter then gave the start the hosts needed as they scored runs quickly. They built a 58-run partnership in 5 overs.

Soon after the partnership the former India captain was back in the dugout scoring 29 off 16 balls. Dube and Jaiswal stitched a partnership of 92 runs. The latter was dismissed scoring 68 off 34 deliveries and the former was again not out at the score of 63 runs. They finished the game with 26 balls remaining.
