Indian Cricket Board announce schedule for home series against Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Australia

India's home season will start with the series against Sri Lanka on January 3.

The Indian Cricket Board on Thursday announced the schedule for the Indian Cricket Team’s upcoming home series against Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Australia. The home season begins with a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, starting 3rd January 2022. The three T20Is will be played on 3rd, 5th, and 7th January 2022. 

This will be followed by three ODIs, scheduled to be held on 10th, 12th and 15th January 2022. 

 “India’s 2022-23 international home season will commence with a three-match T20I and three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka in January,” Indian Cricket Board was quoted as saying. The series will start on January 3 and will end on January 15.

The action will then move to a three-match ODI series against New Zealand wherein Hyderabad, Raipur and Indore will play the hosts.

“The second ODI on 21st January will be a marquee ODI for the city of Raipur as they will host their first international fixture. Team India will also play a three-match T20I series against New Zealand,” the Board said.

The Australia tour of India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will kickstart in Nagpur on February 9. Team India will then play the next three more Test matches in Delhi, Dharamsala, & Ahmedabad. This will also be the last edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The home series will then conclude with a three-match ODI series that will be held in Mumbai, Vizag & Chennai. The first match will be played on 17th March in Mumbai while the remaining two will be played on 19th and 22nd March in Vizag and Chennai respectively.
