Three players each IPL franchise can release ahead of IPL 2024 auction

Here is the complete list of three likely players from each IPL franchise that could be released before the IPL 2024 auctions in Dubai to be held on 19th December.

The IPL 2024 auction is just a month away with Dubai set to host the glamorous event. All ten teams will take to the table to prepare for the upcoming season in 2024. Ahead of the auctions though the teams have to submit the names of the players they want to release or retain. 

The likes of Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians aren’t known to make wholesale changes. Teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders will like to make a lot of changes to their squad.

Here is the list of three players from each of the IPL franchises that could be released before the IPL 2024 auctions.

Sunrisers Hyderabad – (Adil Rashid, Akeal Hosein, and Samarth Vyas)

West Indian all-rounder Akeal Hosein is known to be a T20 specialist but hasn’t really cut in the IPL. Adil Rashid could be another player who could be released ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions. Indian talent Samarth Vyas could be on his way out of the Hyderabad franchise ahead of the new season.

Delhi Capitals – (Prithvi Shaw, Manish Pandey, and Mustafizur Rahman)

Young Indian talent, Prithvi Shaw is rumoured to be on the release list ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions. Joining him could he another forgotten Indian talent in 34-year-old Manish Pandey. Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman could also part ways with the Rishabh Pant-led franchise.

Punjab Kings – (Matthew Short, Harpreet Bhatia, and Nathan Ellis)

Despite breaking the bank to buy Sam Curran during the 2023 Auctions, Punjab Kings finished 8th in the table. Replacement player Matthew Short is likely depart along with fellow Australian Nathan Ellis. Fringe Indian talent Harpreet Singh Bhatia could also be released ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions.

Kolkata Knight Riders – (Tim Southee, Litton Das, and N. Jagadeesan)

Veteran Kiwi pacer Tim Southee could be one of the biggest names that could be released by the two-time winners. Joining him on the chop block could be Bangladeshi batter, Litton Kumar Das. Chennai’s Narayan Jagadeesan could be the third player to be released ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions in Dubai. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore – (Wayne Parnell, Dinesh Karthik, and Siddharth Kaul)

Thrice IPL runners-up Royal Challengers Bangalore could release two veteran Indian talents in Dinesh Karthik and Siddharth Kaul. South Africa’s veteran pacer Wayne Parnell is also likely to be cut from the squad before the big day in Dubai.

Rajasthan Royals – (Joe Root, Navdeep Saini, and Murugan Ashwin)

The 2008 IPL winners led by Sanju Samson could see wholesale changes before the IPL 2024 auctions. Indian players Navdeep Saini and Murugan Ashwin are likely to be released along with English run-machine Joe Root.

Mumbai Indians – (Jhye Richardson, Chris Jordan and Riley Meredith)

The five time IPL winners will want to go all out for Mitchell Starc and for this, they may want to release a few players. Australians Jhye Richardson and Riley Meredith could be shown the door along with English all-rounder Chris Jordan.

Lucknow Super Giants – (Karun Nair, Daniel Sams, and Amit Mishra)

The IPL 2023 season was a disappointing season for the KL Rahul-led side. Amit Mishra could be released along with Karun Nair. Australian Daniel Sams could be another player who could be on his way out of the LSG franchise.

Gujarat Titans – (Dasun Shanaka, Odean Smith, and KS Bharat)

One expects the Hardik Pandya led side to release Dasun Shanaka and Odean Smith before the IPL 2024 auctions. Indian test wicket-keeper could also be released to make way for a younger option.

Chennai Super Kings – (Ben Stokes, Kyle Jamieson, and Sisanda Magala)

The current champions as per reports are set to release Ben Stokes ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions. Joining the English stalwart could be Kiwi all-rounder Kyle Jamieson and South African pacer Sisanda Magala.
