IPL Auction 2024 Retained & Released Players List, Remaining Purse for KKR

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are one of the most successful teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). They are the only side after these two heavyweights to win the IPL twice. They had their best six years under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir when they won the trophy twice in 2012 and 2014. Since then the Knights have struggled to find their form in the tournament. 

They have brought their former skipper Gambhir back to the side as a mentor. GG has been the highest run scorer for the side as well. His inclusion in the side can have a positive impact on the experience and emotions he has with KKR. He in his two-year spell with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) he led to back-to-back knockout stages. 

Ahead of the mini-auction that is scheduled to take place in Dubai on December 19 they have planned their strategies and sorted the players they would love to buy and boost their squad. Before that, they released the most number of players (12) and released their majority pace attack. They would love to get an overseas experience pacer in the auction in order to boost their side's bowling department. They have released Shardul Thakur, Lockie Ferguson, and Tim Southee. They are the big names to be released by the franchise. They have a good purse remaining in their account of 32.7 crore INR and might go for some big names as well.
