IPL Auction 2024 Retained & Released Players List, Remaining Purse for RCB

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are the most unfortunate side in the tournament. They are the side who have not won the tournament after qualifying for the final three times. RCB qualified in 2009, 2011, and 2016 but failed on all three occasions. The best chance they had was in 2016 when they were one of the most formidable sides of the tournament, with their former skipper Virat Kohli in red hot form scoring 973 runs, but they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). 

Kohli has left the captaincy and Faf du Plessis has been captaining the side for two seasons he led the franchise once to the knockouts and was knocked out in 2022 and then in a must-win game in the last season RCB surrendered against Shubman Gill who scored a century. Since then a lot of things have changed for the franchise, they have let go of Mike Hesson and Sanjay Bangar and brought in Andy Flower as the head coach who has a good record in the franchise league cricket. 

Ahead of the IPL 2024 auction they have released and retained their players and started making their plans. The auction is scheduled to take place in Dubai on December 19. They have released some of the big names and brought in Cameron Green for 17.5 crore INR. They would love to boost their spin attack and pick some good spinners in the squad. They have a purse of 23.25 crore INR.
