IPL Auction 2024 Retained & Released Players List, Remaining Purse for RR

Rajasthan Royals (RR) are the maiden champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the year 2008. This is when Shane Warne led them to the only title for the franchise. Since then the team has qualified for just one final but failed to win the trophy in the year 2022. They have tried and tested their game play with a lot of players but failed to have a title-winning impact in the tournament. 

They traded Pacer Avesh Khan from Lucknow Super Giants in exchange of the Indian batter Devdutt Padikkal. With Avesh's addition, the side may have an extra pacer, and it will be interesting to see if the team can go all the way and win their second IPL title. The absence of star English hitter Joe Root, who will opt out of the IPL 2024 and play a few games for Rajasthan in 2023, will be a big miss for the side. 

Ahead of the mini–auction, scheduled to take place on December 19 in Dubai, they will strategise their plans and make good homework for the auction table in order to pick the players they would need to boost their squad. They have 14.5 crore which they have to clear with the players they pick. With the likes of Trent Boult, and Prashidh Krishna they would add some more power in their spinning department with only Adam Zampa and Ravichandran Ashwin on the side, another good spin bowling will boost their bowling department.
