The Indian Premier League's opening match on Wednesday had to be cancelled due to rain in Lucknow's Ekana Stadium. The game had to be abandoned after 19.2 overs of play, so the home team played for almost the entire 20. The LSG managed to go to 125/7 on a really difficult wicket. With 59 off 33, Ayush Badoni was LSG's standout batter. Moeen Ali, Maheesh Theeksana, and Matheesha Pathirana responded with two-wicket hauls for Chennai Super Kings. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja scalped one.

In the rain-drenched game, the crowd entertained themselves as they sang India's national song, Vande Mataram, inside the stadium. Notably, the stadium had more yellow shirts than blue, as fans joked online that it looked less like Ekana and more like Chepauk inside the stadium. The video of the crowd singing has gone viral online, and fans have flooded the comment sections.

Here's the viral video:

Ayush Badoni celebrated his 50 with a flying-kiss celebration

Ayush drew the attention of numerous people as he celebrated scoring a 50. As Badoni hit Deepak Chahar for a six against CSK to reach his fifty, he pulled a Virat Kohli and gave a flying kiss. Before the game, MS Dhoni garnered attention with his sarcastic response to Danny Morrison's questions about his impending retirement.

"How are you finding your final season?" Danny Morrison enquired. "You've decided that it's my last season, not me," Dhoni retorted with a chuckle. The audience laughed heartily when Dany Morrison announced that Dhoni would make a comeback in 2024. The event's social media footage has received many reactions from fans.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders will face off today in the sixteenth season of the Indian Premier League at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. After three straight defeats, the Sunrisers turned things around by narrowly defeating the Delhi Capitals in their recent match. In addition, the Knight Riders' two-game winning streak against the Gujarat Titans in their most recent encounter was snapped. They would be especially motivated to get back to winning ways.
