After the conclusion of the ongoing 5-match T20I series against West Indies, India will be touring Ireland for a 3-match T20I series starting on August 18. India have already announced the squad for the same and also gave chances to some new faces who performed brilliantly in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL).
Meanwhile, Ireland have also announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming series. Ireland’s veteran opening batter Paul Stirling is named captain for the series as Andrew Balbirnie recently stepped down as the skipper after Ireland’s poor performance in the ODI World qualifiers.
However, the Irish team have successfully qualified for the T20 World Cup 2024. They will look to perform well in the T20 World Cup and are hoping to produce a magnificent performance against India as well. They will have a bright chance to defeat the Men in Blue as the Indian squad is quite inexperienced.
New faces to make debut for India
The series also marks the return of India’s premium fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah who will also lead the side in Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya’s absence. Apart from him, players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Shivam Dube and Mukesh Kumar will also be seen in action.
Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi and Prasdh Krishna are also back in the squad. It’d be interesting to India’s performance in the upcoming series considering the lineup full of youngsters. Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan and Shahbaz Ahmed are also included in the squad.
