Absolute dramatic scenes in Mirpur as Bangladesh won a nail-biting match against India. After losing the toss  India dished out a below-par batting display to be bowled out for 186 against Bangladesh in the opening ODI of the three-match series on Sunday.

Sent into bat, Bangladesh bowlers were disciplined from the word as they picked up wickets at regular intervals to dismiss India in 41.2 overs. KL Rahul (73 off 70 balls) played a lone hand for the visitors. Left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan (5/36) was the star of Bangladesh bowling while Ebadat Hossain (4/47) also chipped in with a few wickets.

Brilliant comeback by the Indian bowlers

However, Indian bowlers did a great job and didn’t let the game slip away from their hands. Seamers Deepak Chahar and Mohammad Siraj picked up one wicket each to give Bangladesh some early blows. Off-spinner Washington Sundar also made full use of the slow pitch and picked up two wickets which included the priceless scalp of Shakib-al-Hasan courtesy of a brilliant catch by Virat Kohli.

Shardul Thakur breaks the crucial 33-run partnership. Traps Mahmudullah right in front of the stumps. Mohammed Siraj got rid of Mushfiqur Rahim for 18 as Team India hit back with two quick wickets. Kuldeep also got a wicket as his first in the format, dismissing Afif Hossain, he got another wicket as Ebadot Hossain was hit-wicket off his bowling. After that Mohammed Siraj grabs his third wicket as Hasan Mahmud is trapped in front for a two-ball duck

In the 43rd over of the innings, Mehidy Hasan Miraz went for the wild slog against Shardul Thakur and the top edge takes it back past the keeper Rahul didn't give up and got under it but dropped it. It was decided as a costly drop as Mehidy took the responsibility and became the hero for the Tigers. He hits the winning run and remains unbeaten on 38. The last wicket partnership is worth 51. Truly a memorable win by the home team.
