Star India pacer Jasprit Bumrah made a blistering comeback in international cricket. With an amazing performance against Ireland, Bumrah announced his comeback on the biggest stage. He bowled the full four overs of his quota and clinched two wickets. Bumrah took just two balls to get his first international wicket after almost 11 months.

His return will help Indian team management finalise their squad for the upcoming ODI Asia Cup and World Cup. It is worth noting that Bumrah was running out of the game due to a recurring back injury. He underwent surgery and then had a few weeks of heavy training at the National Cricket Academy before returning to the Indian team. Speaking about the same thing, Bumrah made an emotional comment after the game.

"I was not really nervous but very happy to be back. When you're captaining, you're thinking more about the whole team and not just your own performance. It felt very good. With so many sessions I did at the NCA, I didn't feel I missed out a lot or was doing something new," says Bumrah.

Further praising NCA staff and management, he said that credit for recovery goes to them. Bumrah also gave credit to the Indian Premier League. "Credit to the staff there; they kept me in good spirits. You are not thinking about yourself; you are thinking about others out there. I think the IPL also helps. It is always good; wherever we go, they support us, and that helps us to keep the spirit high", says Bumrah.

It is worth noting that Indian team management is going to hold a crucial selection committee meeting in Delhi on Monday, August 21. India skipper Rohit Sharma, coach Rahul Dravid, and the other selectors will discuss the team. It is likely that India will announce a squad for the Asia Cup and a preliminary squad for the ODI World Cup too.
