Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma is all set to play in the upcoming 16th edition of the Indian T20 League starting on March 31. Rohit was in action in the recently concluded ODI series against Australia where India suffered an embarrassing home series loss by 2-1. His individual performance was also below par.

Meanwhile, the explosive opener has started practising for the cash-rich league. A video of Rohit hitting sixes while practising is going viral on social media. Rohit can be seen hitting a pull shot in the clip. His fans can't keep calm and showed their excitement by reacting to the video.

However, it was earlier reported that the captain of the Mumbai-based franchise will miss a few matches to manage his workload as the Men in Blue will face Australia in the Test Championship final after 9 days of the cash-rich league final at the Oval in June. India managed to qualify for the 2021 Test Championship final but scummed to New Zealand.

It is also reported that the no.1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the five-time champions in absence of Rohit. Suryakumar recently didn't have a great ODI series against Australia as he made an unwanted record for himself by getting 3 consecutive ducks in ODIs. It'd be interesting to see how will he get over this and perform.

The first match of the richest cricket league in the world will be played between the defending champions Gujarat and the four-time champions Chennai on March 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. While Mumbai will be in action on April 2 against the Bangalore-based franchise at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Rohit recently also revealed that he will field his best 12 players against Bangalore.

“Our first match is against Bangalore, we know how they play. So we’ll field our best 12 players (XI plus impact player) against them,” he said during an Instagram live session by the Mumbai-based franchise.
