The five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) registered their fifth win of the IPL 2023 by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 3. MI batters showed a brilliant batting display as they chased a monumental target of 214 runs with six wickets remaining.

Meanwhile, during the first innings, MI’s young fast bowler Arshad Khan dismissed PBKS opener, Prabhsimran Singh. After the dismissal, he did something which is being discussed a lot on social media. On the third delivery of the second over of the Kings' innings Prabhsimran was caught by Ishan Kishan behind the wicket. After this, the bowler and the players appealed but the umpire did not raise his finger even after hearing the appeal for a long time. Arshad got angry with the umpire's action, and whatever he said was recorded on the stump mic.

Watch the video here:

Arshad was heard saying, “Ungli nahi utha raha hai, itna bada aawaz aaya (He's not raising the finger despite such a loud sound).” When the left-arm pacer was saying this, Singh started heading towards the pavilion. After seeing this, Prabhsimran was praised a lot as he showed great sportsmanship. This video is getting viral on social media.

Brilliant batting performance by MI

Talking about the match, PBKS put up a massive total of 214 runs after being asked to bat first by MI. Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma thrashed MI bowlers in the last 10 overs as they stitched a 119-run partnership off just 53 balls. The former was the highest run scorer for the team as he smashed 82 runs off just 42 deliveries which included 7 fours and 4 sixes.

In reply, MI had a horrible start after losing skipper Rohit Sharma on a three-ball duck. Apart from this, every MI batter contributed enough to chase the massive target. Ishan Kishan was the highest run scorer for MI as he scored 75 runs off just 41 balls while smashing 7 fours and 4 sixes.
