Some members of the team have arrived in Barbados ahead of India's visit of the West Indies, as seen by Ravindra Jadeja's photo with teammates Ravichandran Ashwin as well as Shardul Thakur.

After a lengthy vacation after the World Test Championship (WTC) final, the Men in Blue's first group of players arrived in Barbados on Saturday morning. Jadeja provided Indian cricket fans their first glances of the players since the WTC final. Along with Shardul and Ashwin, Jadeja posted a selfie to Instagram as the group "touched down in Barbados."

Prior to this on Friday, Jadeja posted a selfie she had taken with Shardul in the Miami airport, where they could be seen relaxing at a cafe after a long trip.

The Indian players experienced an extended rest of nearly a month after losing to Australia during the WTC final 2023 before what might be an extremely demanding schedule coming up to the One-Day International World Cup 2023 in India.

Team India's schedule for the rest of the year

India will play three Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) against Ireland following the Caribbean tour, followed by an ODI series versus Australia in September and the Asia Cup 2023 on October 8. On October 8, they will play Australia to begin their World Cup ambitions.

Yashasvi Jaiswal as well as Ruturaj Gaikwad received their first Test calls-ups for the Caribbean journey, but Cheteshwar Pujara was omitted as well as Mohammed Shami was given a break. Ajinkya Rahane will serve as vice captain after an outstanding performance in the WTC final. He will serve as Rohit Sharma's assistant and hopes to keep up his stellar recent performance.ย

The two-match Test series, that will serve as the opening act of India's trip of the West Indies in the WTC 2023โ€“25 cycle, is scheduled to begin on July 12. This will be preceded by an ODI series consisting of three matches as well as a five-match the Twenty-20 International series series.
