Despite winning the big match against India in the semi-finals of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup, England captain Jos Buttler is unfazed by his team’s victory over the Men in Blue. The Three Lions absolutely dominated and hammered the Rohit Sharma-led side at Adelaide and won the match comfortably with 10 wickets in hand. With that massive win, they’ll now play the big final against Pakistan on November 13 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground with the hope of lifting their second T20 world championship in history.

The skipper Buttler revealed what playing in a World Cup means to him and how a win over India will only give the team the confidence to do better as it doesn’t count for anything else. The current ODI World Champions are on the verge of creating history as they can very well become the first team in history to call themselves the champions of both formats in white-ball cricket. However, Buttler remains focused and expects to give their best on the night of the finals.

We are giving them every chance: Buttler shares an update on Mark Wood, Dawid Malan

“Any time you get a chance to play in a World Cup final is a huge honour. We're really excited as a group, there's a nice feel around the team. The previous performance (against India) gives us a lot of confidence, but it doesn't count for anything. Tomorrow we start a fresh game against a really tough opposition and any time you are fighting for a trophy you know it isn't going to come easy. So we will focus on them a little bit and on us a lot and what we need to do to prepare well today to turn up tomorrow and do the best we can,” the skipper said on the eve of the finals.

The duo of Dawid Malan and Mark Wood missed the semi-final clash against India after both the cricketers picked up an injury during England’s Super 12 fixtures. Phil Salt and Chris Jordan replaced them respectively and in case either of them misses out on the finals, these two cricketers can once again be seen as Buttler couldn’t share a positive update on the injured players.

“Obviously there's not many days since the semi-final, but we are giving them every chance,” the captain said in the press conference.
