England cricketer Jonny Bairstow recently revealed that he and his partner have become parents to a baby boy on Wednesday. The couple has named the child Edward Bairstow. The England opener took to his social media to reveal the news of a birth of a baby boy among his fans.

Bairstow was recently seen in action during England vs Ireland Test match at Lords last week after getting ruled for six months as he was recovering from a horrific leg break. The hosts registered a dominant victory against Ireland by 10 wickets. Ollie Pope was adjudged Player of the Match for his splendid knock of 205 runs off just 208 deliveries.

“Delighted to share with you that my girlfriend and I have welcomed Edward Bairstow into the world! What an amazing time ahead! They are both doing brilliantly,” Bairstow wrote on his Insta story while announcing the news alongside a picture of himself pushing a pram.

England to take on Australia in Ashes 2023

Bairstow will now be seen in cricketing action in the upcoming Ashes series against Australia starting on June 16th. The 33-year-old had a great outing in the last English summer where he scored four centuries against New Zealand and India. He has been England’s main man in red-ball cricket under the captaincy of Ben Stokes and the coach Brendon McCullum.

Meanwhile, Australia will be looking to retain the Ashes after dominating 4-0 win in the 2021-22 series. The Aussies also haven’t been able to win a Test series in England since 2001.
