India continued their dominance against the West Indies in the second Day of the ongoing first Test. After bowling out the home side for 150, the Asian side ended Day One on 80/0. The team started the Day and scored slowly in the first session but didn't lose a wicket. The opening pair of skipper Rohit Sharma and debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal notched up their fifties in the first session.

They started pressing the accelerator in the second session as both players reached their hundreds and the team scored close to 100 runs although lost two wickets. Right after scoring his 10th hundred, Sharma got out to debutant Alick Althanaze. Shubman Gill, who batted at number for the first time in his Test career, got out only after scoring six runs.

Meanwhile, former India skipper Virat Kohli survived two DRS from the home side. Both of them turned out to right decisions from the umpire. They also burned one review on another player. At this point, they don't have any reviews left which is why Jaiswal, who might have been given out at the end of Day 3 by the third umpire, has managed to stay unbeaten.

Kemar Roach trapped him lbw but the on-field umpire gave it not out. As they have no reviews left, the Maroon brigade was left with no choice but to accept the decision. On the other hand, the Indians chose to play safe just like they did in the first session. In the evening session, they scored a little more than 60 runs. Jaiswal, who came out to bat in the middle of Day One, has kept himself unbeaten on 143 off 350 balls.

On the other hand, former India skipper Kohli is batting on 36. The wicket has been difficult for scoring so far.

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored the fastest fifty in IPL 2023

Notably, the left-hander showcased a different side to him in the ongoing game. He has batted for 350 balls and looking like getting more runs and occupying the crease. A few months back, he scored 13-ball 50, the fastest in the history of the IPL.
