Is Chahal the 'GOAT' of the Indian Premier League?

Regarding Chahal's performance, the Indian Premier League 2023 has seen him have yet another outstanding campaign as he picked up 21 wickets in 14 games while keeping an economy rate of 8.18. In addition to helping Rajasthan Royals win, his remarkable performance took him above Dwayne Bravo's record of 183 wickets to become the IPL's all-time highest wicket-taker. The 32-year-old currently has 187 wickets in 145 games. Chahal was the leading wicket-taker from RR this season and was one of their most important players during the entire tournament.

Chahal has the highest strike rate of 16.9 which is more than any spinner who has taken 100 or more wickets in the IPL. That works out to about one wicket every 2.5 overs. Chahal's fellow teammate Ravichandran Ashwin averages less than one wicket per four-over allocation in the IPL, taking one every 24.2 deliveries. He has played in fewer games than Piyush Chawla, Amit Mishra, Ashwin, Sunil Narine, Harbhajan Singh, and Ravindra Jadeja while out-taking them all in terms of wickets.
