The possibility of India refusing to visit Pakistan puts doubt on the highly anticipated competition, putting the destiny of the Asia Cup 2023 in jeopardy. The long-running issue over the location of the next Asia Cup 2023 came to a critical stalemate as Pakistan's resistance to holding the event in a different nation poured fuel to the raging fire.

Meanwhile, Star Sports, who will be broadcasting the much-awaited tournament, has released a poster in which all the participating nations' captains can be seen. However, there were 2 more Indian players with the Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Former India captain Virat Kohli and star allrounder Hardik Pandya were also added to the poster. However, many fans didn't like how Stat Sports put Kohli in the front as he is not leading the Indian team currently.

The long Asia Cup dispute has finally come to an end

India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal will all take part in the ODI-style Asia Cup this time around. The first group includes Pakistan, India, and Nepal. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka will participate in the second group.

From each of the groups, two teams will advance to the Super 4. The Super-4 will then be contested in a round-robin format over the course of a total of 6 games. Two teams will then advance to the final and compete for the championship. The Asia Cup 2023 will include a total of 13 games, including the championship game.

The Indian team has consistently won the Asia Cup as they have won the Asia Cup championship 7 times, which is the highest number during the tournament’s 15 seasons to date (1984, 1988, 1990-91, 1995, 2010, 2016, and 2018). Sri Lanka, which is ranked second, has won the championship six times (1986, 1997, 2004, 2008, 2014, and 2022). Only twice (in 2000 and 2012) could Pakistan claim the title. This will also be a great opportunity for the Asian teams to gear up for the upcoming ODI World Cup.
