Kane Williamson set to skip ODI series against India, New Zealand to field a new coach for the tour

Kiwi team captain Kane Williamson will not be on the tour of India. However, he will take charge of the team in Pakistan.

The 50-over World Cup is set to start in 2023. Before this, all the teams are rapidly engaged in testing the players of their team. These include New Zealand and India as well. After the 20-20 World Cup 2022, Team India visited New Zealand with a new team. Now, the Kiwi team is ready to tour India and Pakistan. New Zealand has announced the team for the ODI series against both countries.

The New Zealand team will first tour Pakistan. The ODI series against Pakistan will start on January 10. After that, the first match of the series against India will be played on 18 January. Kiwi team captain Kane Williamson will not be on the tour of India, but he will take charge of the team in Pakistan.

Kane Williamson, Head Coach Gary Stead set to skip India ODIs

After the series against Pakistan, coach Gary Stead will also return to New Zealand along with Williamson. In his place, Luke Ronchi will serve as the head coach on the tour of India. In the ODI series against India, Tom Latham will be seen leading the team in place of Williamson. New Zealand Cricket said Williamson is rested as they aim to manage the workload of the players and the support staff.

Apart from Williamson and Gary Stead, the team's star bowler Tim Southee will also be present in the Pakistan tour. Jacob Duffy will tour India in his place, while Mark Chapman has returned to the team in place of Williamson. Apart from this, uncapped player Henry Shipley has also been included in the tour of India in view of his performance in domestic cricket. Ish Sodhi and Henry Nicholls will be seen playing for their team against both countries.
