'Khali idhar e khelta hain'- Fans react as Riyan Parag scores two consecutive centuries in Deodhar Trophy 2023

Riyan Parag scored his second consecutive century of the domestic season, on August 1, Thursday at CAP Ground 2, Puducherry. The Rajasthan Royals batter has been in sensational form in the ongoing Deodhar trophy.  Representing East Zone, he produced a brilliant performance against West Zone, scoring a splendid century in just 66 deliveries.

The 21-year-old batter, batting at number six, scored 102 runs or 68 balls. He hit five boundaries and six sixes in his 102 runs innings. The partnership he made with Kumar Kushagra for the sixth wicket was exceptional, adding 150 runs in 106 balls, thereby aiding East Zone in reaching a formidable total of 319 runs.

Riyan Parag continues to shine 

With a stunning century versus North Zone, Parag made an indelible impact. On that occasion, he scored 131 runs off 102 balls, while hammering 11 monster sixes and five boundaries. This was his first century of the season, laying the groundwork for an outstanding performance.

The Rajasthan Royals' rising star's List-A career and accomplishments are certainly noteworthy. With five centuries to his name, he has demonstrated tremendous consistency and skills. His top score of 174 runs demonstrates his ability to overpower opponents. In addition, he has five half-centuries, establishing his standing as a consistent run-scorer, particularly in the shorter formats.

East Zone captain Saurabh Tiwary won the toss and chose to bat first in the game. Opener Abhimanyu Easwaran and Utkarsh Singh worked well together. Both contributed to the team's total of 59 runs, however, Abhimanyu Easwaran was dismissed after 38 runs.

Captain Saurabh Tiwari scored 13 runs, while Rishabh Das was removed for three runs. Riyan Parag took full responsibility after that. Half-centuries were also scored by Utkarsh Singh and Kumar Kushagra. Following that, Virat Singh, who came in at number three, batted brilliantly, scoring 42 runs.

Utkarsh Singh, on the other hand, scored 50 runs in 52 balls. His potential, though, extends beyond batting, as he has also shown bowling ability, taking 48 wickets in his career, making him a vital all-rounder for his team.
