Ravi Shastri, the former Indian team player and head coach, recently shared his opinions on Virat Kohli's captaincy and the way the stylish batter is feeling right now. The topic of Arshdeep Singh, the young left-armer with the ability to succeed in all forms of the game, was also discussed. In an interview with ESPNCricinfo, Shastri discussed Virat Kohli's current mental state.
Shastri spoke about the time when Rohit Sharma was ruled out of the fifth and final Test against England and Jasprit Bumrah was handed over the captaincy reins instead of the former Team India skipper Virat Kohli. He said, “If I was still there - I'm sure Rahul
Ravi Shastri then spoke about Virat Kohli’s mental state earlier and now he is cool and relaxed during the current season of the Indian Premier League and that is showing in the kinds of innings he is playing for the RCB. He said, “He's in a very good space, enjoying his cricket," Shastri said. "That's the feeling I got as opposed to the last year when we were sitting and discussing does he need a break, does he not need a break. He seemed to have the burden of the whole world on his shoulders.
Shastri added that, “Now it's refreshing. the enthusiasm, passionate energy and enjoyment have come back, which for me was the best thing to see. Runs you might or might not get but when you see someone, and the passion, enjoyment and drive is back again, it's good."
As Faf du Plessis recovers from a rib injury that has restricted his participation to only being a batter, Kohli is currently serving as the interim captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2023. Kohli has returned to taking the lead, saying that it's "nothing I'm not used to."
Fans react to Ravi Shastri's bold statement regarding Virat Kohli as captain in Test Championship final : -
Kohli for India captain if Rohit is unavailable for the WTC final?

BCCI and Dravid did blunder by giving captaincy to Bumrah in 5th test in england, same happened during SA tour also when KLR was made captain even though Rahane was there in absence of Virat🤦
— Zimbabar Azambwe (@Azam_says) April 29, 2023
He achieved everything in test as captain and as player. I think it's better not go with virat .. because he is not that much fortunate...when it comes to final games.

As a player
"If virat had a great game in knockout india would win" WTC ,WC 2023 #ViratKohli
WTC final is a very important match and it is the duty of every team member and Indian well wisher to support Rohit as a leader. Its not time to be nostalgic about past bromantic encounters. If captain is not available then vice captain should lead, not Virat.

You never know if Rohit is unavailable then for this crunch WTC finals that too in England and against Aussie team all arrow points towards only one man the come back man Rahane but I would love to see Kohli taking over the leadership. 75:25 Rahane.

Ravi Shastri only want Virat Kohli. Even Rohit Sharma score century in CWC 19, Ravi didn't smile on him. It's just want and promote Kohli.
