India and Australia will be clashing against each other in the Test Championship final which will take place between June 7 and 11 at The Oval. It won’t be wrong to say that the Australian team are the favourite considering the conditions at The Oval. However, India’s record in the past few years is tremendous, especially in Australia and England, so they will definitely look to beat the mighty Australian side and lift the Test Mace.

Meanwhile, Indian team captain Rohit Sharma is reported to be injured just a day before the final against Australia. According to Zee News, Rohit suffered an injury on his left thumb while in net practice. However, the injury is not serious. Rohit’s presence would be very important for the team as he is the only experienced opener in the squad.

Ponting is allowed to give his opinion: Rohit Sharma

Meanwhile, former legendary Australian captain Ricky Ponting has picked Australia as the winner of the Test Championship final and when Rohit was told about this he said that Ponting is allowed to give his opinion but only time will tell which team uses the conditions well and win the match. The 36-year-old batter also talked about his side and said that they handle the pressure very well in tough situations.

"That's his point of view. He's allowed to give his opinion. Only time will tell which team has used the conditions really well. You know, the people who are watching the game, the experts, they'll have their opinion, they'll talk a lot of things before the start of a championship like that, a build-up to the championship." Rohit was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

"Honestly - for us, it doesn't really matter because we know what is at stake and we need to focus on that. And that is what the team is going to do. Whoever uses the conditions really well, probably will win the game. As simple as that. And also handling the pressure during the course of these five days because there will be times where the teams will be under pressure in these five days so you just got to adapt and handle that pressure really well to come out on top." he added.
