MI New York(MINY) defeated Texas Super Kings by six wickets in a Major League Cricket (MLC) Challenger match at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Friday, to qualify for the final. After finishing fourth in the points table, MINY are now just one win away from claiming the title.

The Final of the inaugural edition of Major League Cricket will be played at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas on Sunday. They are set to face Seattle Orcas on Sunday. The Orcas will be high on confidence after putting on a dominating show against the Texas Super Kings (TSK) in the playoffs.

Trent Boult and Dewald Brevis shines for MI New York

New York opted to bowl first after winning, and they were successful in limiting Super Kings to 158 runs overall. TSK's innings got off to a sluggish start, with their opener Faf du Plessis getting just 6 runs off of 9 balls. Devon Conway, who scored 38 runs off of 35 deliveries, was TSK's star player. David Miller (17 runs off 10 balls) and Milind Kumar (37 runs off 34 balls) made more noteworthy contributions. The New York bowlers put relentless pressure on the team, though.

Trent Boult, who put up an incredible fast bowling performance for the Nicholas Pooran-led team, was the team's top bowler. He made a remarkable four-wicket haul while only allowing 24 runs to pass him by in his four overs. Tim David and Rashid Khan each contributed significantly.

With Tim getting two wickets in one over and Rashid taking one. Dewald Brevis, the South African batter who was not given the opportunity to play for the Mumbai Indians during the IPL 2023 season, had steely grit to strike an undefeated 41 off 33 and lead his team to victory.

David Wiese joined Brevis when MI New York needed 35 runs from 25 balls. The duo batted sensibly and took their team to the final. Trent Boult won the Player of the Match thanks to his stupendous spell of bowling. He got the crucial scalps of Faf du Plessis, Devon Conway, Mitchell Santner, and Calvin Savage to help his team emerge victorious.
