West Indian keeper-batter Nicholas Pooran showed off his bruises following the fifth and final Twenty20 International against India on Monday at Lauderhill. He then thanked Brandon King and Arshdeep Singh by posting a photo of the two on his official Twitter account.

He finished the five-match T20I series against India as the leading run scorer, earning him the Man of the Series award. It marked the first bilateral series win for the hosts against India since 2017. The left-handed batter scored 47 runs off 35 deliveries on Sunday.

Nicholas Pooran wins Player of the Series

Pooran wrote as a caption for the image, "The after-effects thank you, Brandon King and Arshdeep." He had a sensational series against India. He took his sweet revenge against Indian skipper Hardik Pandya. The India skipper "If Nicky wants to hit, let him hit me and that was the plan, I enjoy such competition. I know he is going to hear this and will come hard at me in the fourth T20I."

West Indies defeated Team India in a thrilling series. Brandon King (85*) and Nicholas Pooran (47) put up a 107-run partnership to help the hosts win by 166 runs. They stopped India's 11-series winning streak with the series victory. It's also the West Indies' first bilateral series victory in 17 years (minimum of three games). Meanwhile, Team India has suffered its first T20I series defeat in 25 months. It is also the first time that Team India has lost three T20I matches in a row.

Suryakumar Yadav made a brilliant half-century to lead India's comeback against West Indies in the series decider, while Tilak Varma scored 27 off 18 balls. His 61 runs in 45 balls helped India to a 20-over total of 165/9. In response, West Indies defeated India by 8 wickets in the 5th T20I, with Brandon King hitting a match-winning 85.  Pooran got the Player of the Series award for scoring 176 runs in five matches with the best score of 67 and a strike rate of almost 142. The hosts did not qualify for the forthcoming ODI World Cup
