The Indian team has come into the third ODI against Sri Lanka to complete a whitewash. Captain Rohit Sharma decided to bat first after winning the toss. The Indian captain made two major changes in the playing XI. For the last two ODIs, two players were the subject of much discussion, in which Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan were benched, but Suryakumar got the nod for the third.

The right-handed batter fitted in the playing XI. But Kishan did not get the benefit of his double century yet. After two ODIs, there were speculations that Kishan would be given a chance in the last ODI. Kishan had destroyed many major records by scoring a double century in the absence of Rohit Sharma. After which it was expected that he has confirmed his place in the ODI team. But after not giving him a chance, there has been a continuous debate.

Ishan Kishan is included in the Test side for the Australia series

Two great players were rested for the third ODI. Umran Malik, the pace dealer of the team, was not a part of the playing XI. In his place, young all-rounder Washington Sundar was included in the team. Apart from this, the team's important all-rounder Hardik Pandya was also rested. Both players have played all three T20s and two ODIs against Sri Lanka. There is a golden chance for Suryakumar to perform well in the last ODI.

Meanwhile, Kishan has come into the Test side for the Australia series with first-choice wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant in recovery after a car accident. Pant was the only left-hander in the top six of the Indian Test batting line-up. Rohit, KL Rahul, Chateshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer, the top five in the Indian batting line-up, are all right-handers. A left-hander provides a different dimension to the batting line-up and the opposing bowlers have to adjust their lines and lengths every time a left-right combination is on the crease.

Here's how the fans reacted to his exclusion:
